Hair Loss Causes in Men

There are many myths about hair loss or hair thinning in men. Some men believe that wearing hats or not keeping their hair clean will cause hair loss, while others believe that scalp massages and dietary supplements will grow hair. Both of these notions are myths. The main reason (other than illness or reaction to medications) for hair loss, is genetics. Androgenic Alopecia or Male Pattern Baldness affects over half of men by middle age. There is no cure for the condition though it can be slowed by hair loss drugs. Currently, the only permanent solution to hair loss is a hair transplant. Although many balms, ointments, laser treatments, and other gimmicks are sold as cures, none of these has proven to be effective at stopping hair loss.

Before wasting time and money on alternative hair loss treatments, consider that if they worked, we’d surely know about it. The moment a so called cure is found, it will be reported as such in the mainstream media. If that day comes, we’ll know definitively that there is indeed a cure for hair loss. Until then, caveat emptor.
